DEBRA’S EXPERIENCE
Debra has a wealth of experience in the City of Ontario including service on the Ontario Planning Commission, Ontario-Montclair School Board and 15 years on the City Council. During that time, she has helped bring about many accomplishments: returning the airport to local control, locating the new Kaiser Hospital in Ontario, building a new youth soccer and sports facility, opening Ontario Town Square and revitalizing the Arts District and museums.
Debra promotes emergency preparedness – families need a two-week supply of food, water, medications, first aid kits and sanitary supplies on hand. (www.ready.gov for more information)
The city is expanding the Convention Center and adding an entertainment district around the Toyota Arena. Ontario has started construction on the Grand Park in the Ontario Ranch area and is building a new gym in Anthony Munoz Park. This past year, Ontario hired additional police and fire personnel and opened an additional fire station to decrease response times. Ontario is proud to have four fire personnel on each truck, allowing for faster knock-down of fires and better medical care. Many cities cannot provide that level of service.
DOWNTOWN IS ON THE MOVE
Ontario Town Square is the home of our summer concert series, Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion car show and other city events. Ontario’s two museums – the Ontario Museum of History and Art and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art -- are flourishing. New exhibits open every eight weeks, and both hold special events throughout the year. Open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 pm, with free admission and free parking, offering one location, two museums.
Downtown revitalization is happening! The new mixed-use building at C and Euclid Ave. is under construction and will have retail at street level and market rate apartments above. The new BBQ and whisky distillery restaurant in the Bank of Italy building is scheduled to open in January. The Unique Café, featuring an Asian-themed menu, opened in October 2023 at 231 N. Euclid Ave. Holt x Palm, a contemporary interior design and retail store, is located at 115 S. Palm Ave. Please patronize these new businesses so they can be successful.
